Dehydrodiisoeugenol constitute a new group of antimitotic and potential anticancer agents that inhibit tubulin polymerization. It is a benzofuranoid type neolignan have been synthesized and diversified to its respective ether (K2CO3 / Acetone / Alkyl / Aryl halide) derivatives using conventional methods and characterized by 1H NMR and mass spectral data. These synthesized compounds were screened for their potential antibacterial activity against Gram positive and Gram negative cultures. Few of them possess promising antibacterial activity.
